Although there is little consensus on the phases of the Industrial Revolution (IR), the sense that automation is the hallmark of the 4th IR is uniform. Based on our macro trends analysis, our forecast of the 5th IR will not be simply more automation (i.e. autonomous, singularity, human-machine integration). This is already well underway and will not create the next revolution in our economic way of life.
We believe that the definition of a business entity is what will fundamentally change. The definition of organization is blurring from the public-private partnerships created to take on governmental functions to the rise of the gig economy where individual people will become business entities (Me, Inc).
It is the boundary between entities that creates extraordinary friction and complexity in the global economy.
The ProOrbis® Framework is a fully interoperable data standard that enables organizations to transcend the boundary between entities which could accelerate the 5th industrial revolution.
